Prevention and Treatment of Pressure Ulcers/Injuries: Clinical Practice Guideline (4th edition)
Stakeholder Consultation
On behalf of the Guideline Governance Group, you are invited to provide early feedback on proposed evidence-based recommendations and good practice statements for the upcoming edition of the International Guideline.
Methods for developing the statements
The evidence-based recommendations have been developed using the GRADE methods for developing clinical practice guidelines. The methodology was developed and received peer review in 2022. You can access information about the methodology here:
Implementation of the statements
All the recommendations and statements will be supported by implementation considerations in the completed guideline document. Where a recommendations and good practice statement guide clinicians about WHAT to do, the implementation considerations provide guidance, tips and tricks on HOW to implement the recommendations and statements. The implementation considerations are still being developed and reviewed by the Expert Working Groups and Guideline Governance Group and are not included in this phase of the stakeholder consultation process.
Providing feedback
We are keen to receive comments from anyone interested in pressure ulcers/injuries, including patients and their carers. Your feedback is important to ensure we are providing the best guidance to improve healthcare and outcomes for people with or at risk of pressure injuries. We encourage you to share the survey with other interested parties.
The first phase of the stakeholder consultation process is open for comments until 31st January 2025. It will take a minimum of 10 minutes and up to one hour to complete, the full time to complete will depend on how many recommendations you provide a comment on.
Comments can be made either by:
- Emailing a Word document (maximum two pages of 12 font text) with your comments to mailto:admin@internationalguideline.com; or
- Completing the forms on this website.
